Enabling enhanced security for existing local users


When you upgrade to Service Pack 7 of BMC Release Process Management 5.0, perform the following steps to reset your password:

  1. Log in to BMC Release Process Management (BRPM) with the username and the password. The following error message is displayed:For enhanced security, enter the temporary password emailed to the registered email of user "admin".

  2. An email is sent to the registered email address of the user. This email contains a password.
    • Enter the username in the Login field.
    • Enter the password from the email in the Password field and click on Log In.
  3. On the Create New Password screen, do the following:
    • Enter the password from the email in the Old Password field.
    • Enter a password in the New Password field.
    • Re-enter the password in the Confirm Password field. Click on Login.

If you do not receive an email with the password or you do not have access to the registered email, you must reset the password using the password reset rake command. For more information, see Steps to reset your password.

Important

Password reset does not impact LDAP users.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
