New installation program

The BMC Release Lifecycle Management 4.3.00 suite is now provided with a new installation program (or installer). You can use this installer to install the following component products (together or individually):

  • BMC Release Process Management 2.6.00
  • BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation 4.3.00

The new installer also provides the following enhanced features:

  • Support for installing BMC Release Lifecycle Management 4.3.00 without Administrator privileges on Windows or root privileges on Linux
  • Support for multiple installations of the BMC Release Lifecycle Management 4.3.00 on the same computer

Upgrading and data migration

BMC Release Lifecycle Management now supports migration of data from an earlier version of BMC Release Process Management during an upgrade to version 4.3.00 of the suite. For more information, see Upgrading-or-migrating.

Integration of BMC Release Process Management with BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation

You can now integrate version 2.6.00 of BMC Release Process Management with version 4.3.00 of BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation. With this integration, you can perform various functions in BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation through the BMC Release Process Management user interface. You can perform the following functions with the help of default automation scripts provided with the product:

  • Create an instance for an existing package
  • Deploy an instance for an existing package
  • Deploy an instance (for a package) by specifying the exact instance name
  • Create and deploy an instance for an existing package
  • Create an instance for an existing repository
  • Deploy an instance for an existing repository
  • Create and deploy an instance for an existing repository

Integration of BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation with BMC Middleware Automation

You can now integrate version 4.3.00 of BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation with BMC Middleware Automation, version 8.2.03 Patch 3 or later. With this integration, you can perform various functions in BMC Middleware Automation using BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation. You can perform the following functions with the help of default actions provided with the product:

  • Install a configuration
  • Preview a configuration installation

Communication with RSCD agents

The BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation product now communicates with Remote System Call Daemon (RSCD) agents at target servers for the retrieval of package content and for running deployment processes.
