Service Pack 1 provides the following enhancements for the BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation and BMC Release Process Management component products:

Enhancement

Description

You can perform your deployments by using the BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation interface and through your existing Puppet setup. In this manner, you can perform your deployments on remote target servers by using your existing Puppet Agents.

You can perform your deployments by using the BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation interface and through your existing Chef setup.

This release provides you with an IBM_MQ action pack containing actions that you can use to perform various operations in the IBM WebSphere MQ product by using the BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation interface.

With this release, you have the capability of adding global server properties and server properties.

By adding global server properties, you can assign properties with a default value to all the objects that support adding properties, such as channel templates, channels, packages (or repositories), instances, servers, and environments. You can change the value of a global server property depending on the Property precedence available.

You can also add properties to a server. The server property values get higher precedence over global properties.


List of enhancements for BMC Release Process Management

Enhancement

Description

With this release, you have the capability of establishing a non-anonymous connection to LDAP.

You have the following additional fields added to this effect:

  • LDAP Bind Base
  • LDAP Bind User
  • LDAP Bind Password

Also, the LDAP Component field has been renamed to LDAP Search String.

This release includes all the updates and corrected issues covered in patch version 2.6.00.01 of BMC Release Process Management.

Installing the service pack

The installation program for BMC Release Lifecycle Management 4.3 Service Pack 1 has been enhanced and now enables you to upgrade and perform data migration for both component products included in the suite. Upgrading to version 4.3.01 is now possible not only for the BMC Release Process Management product, but also for the BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation product.
