Installing

This section explains how to install BMC Release Lifecycle Management 4.3, which includes the following component products:

  • BMC Release Process Management 2.6
  • BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation 4.3

You can install these products together or separately. A single installation program installs separate instances of BMC Release Process Management and BMC Varalogix Q Deployment Automation. The installation supports the Postgres, MSSQL, and Oracle databases, and includes Apache Tomcat configurations.

Note

For any database, you must install BMC Release Process Management and BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation in different, independent table spaces and user schemas to ensure that no data overwrites or corruptions occur. For example, in Oracle, you would install as follows:

  • BMC Release Process Management: Tablespace = brpm and User schema = brpm
  • BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation: Tablespace = blvq and User schema = blvq

The installation program automatically installs the BMC VaraLogix Q Deployment Automation dispatcher. To install the dispatcher on a different computer without using the installation wizard, see Installing-and-starting-deployment-dispatchers.
