Can BMC AppZone run a Security Check on my application files? How does this process work?

BMC AppZone requires that APK applications go through a security check. BMC does not peform security checks on IPA files at this time. BMC AppZone uses Mobile Defense security software to scan the application strictly for maliciousness. The following list describes the security check process:

  1. The system sends APK files for Security Check as soon as they are uploaded and Draft is saved.
  2. Scan results Fail (red) or Pass (green) are received and display on the Application View and Edit pages. While the scan is in progress, the application is in Pending status and this process can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours.
  3. The IT Manager can accept the risk (on a failed application) and publish the application, by confirming the Accept Risk configuration message. Also, to avoid the wait time if they are in a rush, the IT Manager can choose to publish the application even for Pending Mobile Defense.
