Configuring FootPrints Sync


You can configure FootPrints Sync with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange to enable agents to synchronize appointments in external application with FootPrints. As an administrator, you can configure Sync settings for the system and then agents can configure personal and workspace appointments synchronization with their Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Office 365 account.

Configuring with Microsoft Exchange

The following procedure explains how to enable communication with Microsoft Exchange from FootPrints.

Before you begin

Make sure that you have:

  • Microsoft Exchange 2007 Service Pack 2 or later
  • A Microsoft Exchange Administrator account with:
    • Impersonation rights configured for the user accounts
    • Microsoft Exchange Web Services
  • Enabled basic authentication in the exchange web server site

To configure Microsoft Exchange Sync

  1. Click the Administration tab.
  2. In the System Management section, click Integration > FootPrints Sync.
    The Configure FootPrints Sync page is displayed.
  3. In the FootPrints Sync System Settings section:
    1. Select the Enable Sync check box.
    2. Select Enable Exchange Sync.
      The configuring options for Exchange are displayed.
    3. In the Server IP Address field, enter the IP address of the server.
    4. In the Domain Name field, enter the domain name to be configured.
  4. In the Integration Account section, in the User Name field, enter a user name whose account you want to configure for Microsoft Exchange.
  5. You cannot enter an email address in this field, you must enter a user name without the @ character.
  6. In the Password field, enter a password for the user.
  7. (Optional) Select the Change Credentials check box.
    The first time you configure Microsoft Exchange Sync, this check box is not visible. It is displayed only after the configuration.
  8. Click Test Connectivity.
    A message is displayed, stating whether the test was successful.
  9. Click Save.

Configuring with Microsoft Office 365

The following instructions explain how to enable communication with Microsoft Office 365 from FootPrints.

Before you begin

Make sure that you have an Office 365 administrator account with impersonation rights configured for the user accounts.

You must register FootPrints with Microsoft and generate the Client ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret for FootPrints. For the related procedure, see the Microsoft documentation.

To configure Microsoft Office 365 Sync

  1. Click the Administration tab.
  2. In the System Management section, click Integration > FootPrints Sync.
    The Configure FootPrints Sync page is displayed.
  3. In the FootPrints Sync System Settings section:
    1. Select the Enable Sync check box.
    2. Select the Enable Office 365 Sync.
      The configuring options for Office 365 are displayed.

      Tip

      The Application Address field is auto-populated with the address outlook.office365.com. However, you can change it as per your organization's requirements.

  4. (Optional) Select the Enable OAuth check box.
  5. In the Integration Account section:
    1. In the Account Email field, enter the email address for the account that you want to configure for Microsoft Office 365.
    2. (If Enable OAuth check box is selected) Enter Client ID, Tenant ID, and Client Secret for FootPrints.
  6. (Disabled if Enable OAuth check box is selected) In the Password field, enter a password for the email account.
  7. (Optional) Select the Change Credentials check box.
    For first time configuration this check box is not visible. It is displayed only after the configuration.
  8. Click Test Connectivity.
    A message is displayed, stating whether the test was successful.
  9. Click Save.
