Running the Migration Advisor Tool on Linux

Prerequisite
Ensure that you have downloaded the correct Migration Advisor Tool (footprints-service-core-migration-advisor-NNbit-12.x-nn.nn.tar.gz) file, where NN is 32 or 64 for the bitness of the FootPrints 11.6.01 or later application server.
To run the Migration Advisor Tool on Linux
- Create a directory with an appropriate name and move the footprints-service-core-migration-advisor-NNbit-12.x-nn.nn.tar.gz file to it.
- Go to the command prompt and change directory to the directory that you created in step 1.
Extract the contents of the footprints-service-core-migration-advisor-NNbit-12.x-nn.nn.tar.gz file using a command.
- Make the following files executable:
- setup.bin
- jre/bin/java
Export the display using the command as shown below:
Run the setup.bin script:
./setup.binBrowse and go to the location where FootPrints 11.6.01 or later is installed.
Click Next.
- Click Next to start the analysis of the system.
After you run the Migration Advisor Tool, a Migration Advisor Report is created.
It is saved in the following format, on the same location where FootPrints 11.6.01 or later is installed:
MigrationAdvisorReports\Analysis_yyyy-mm-dd-hh-mm.html
