Running the command line tools

The following topics describe how to run command line tools, categorized by the types of operations they perform in BMC Database Automation.

Note

If, after setting up and configuring your environment for using command line tools, you receive a “Connection Refused” error message when running your first command, perform the following checks:

  1. You are able to ping the BMC Database Automation manager host FQDN from the host where the command line tools are installed.
  2. The port number (default 8087) is open on the BMC Database Automation manager host.
  3. The uncommented line in the mtd.conf file does not have a space in its prefix
  4.  The mtd service has restarted after it was edited.
