Creating an instance of SQL Server

Note

Depending on the version of SQL Server that you are installing, there might be slight variations in the wizards documented in this section. For more information about supported versions of SQL Server, see Microsoft SQL Server.

Restriction

Mixing 32-bit and 64-bit SQL Server instances on the same node or cluster is not supported.

High-level process

After you complete configuration and BMC Database Automation begins to create the SQL Server instance, the following process occurs:

  1. Uploading media
  2. Running pre-provisioning scripts
  3. Creating an SQL Server instance
  4. Running the post-provisioning scripts
  5. Applying patches
  6. Running the final script

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
