Addition of Multi-Manager best-practice information
October 26, 2012: The General-deployment-concepts-and-recommendations topic was updated to include a document about the best practices for implementing a Multi-Manager configuration for BMC Database Automation. Additionally, Multi-Manager documentation has been revised on the whole to provide more complete configuration information. See Configuring a Multi-Manager mesh.
Addition of command privilege information
September 4, 2012: The General-deployment-concepts-and-recommendations topic was updated to include an overview document about the various administrative tasks that users can perform on a BMC Database Automation Manager, which tasks require root in a default installation, and the measures that can be taken to allow non-root users to perform those tasks.
Addition of MySQL support information
June 29, 2012: The Enhancements-in-version-8-2-00 topic was updated to indicate that BMC Database Automation supports the management of MySQL instances.
Update to Oracle media location requirements for UNIX
June 19, 2012: The Oracle-media-location-requirements-for-Linux-and-UNIX topic was updated to provide additional information about preparing the media files.
Update to OS requirements
June 19, 2012: The OS-requirements topic was updated to indicate that BMC Database Automation Manager hosts running Red Hat Enterprise Linux release 6 must have a specific directive set in the postgresql.conf file.
Update to Multi-Manager Installation procedure
June 18, 2012: The Installing the Manager software in a Multi-Manager configuration topic was updated with additional information on the pg_config tool.
Updates to database environment variables
June 12, 2012: The Sybase-environment-variables and SQL-Server-environment-variables topics were updated with additional variable information for patching activities.
Update to OS requirements
June 12. 2012: The OS-requirements topic was updated to indicate that the openssl097a Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) package is not required for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
Update to upgrading a Multi-Manager configuration
June 12, 2012: The Upgrading a Multi-Manager configuration and Installing a service pack or patch on Multi-Manager configurations topics were updated to reflect the need to run the deconfigure_megamesh script.
Update of Sybase environment variables for patching
May 22, 2012: The Sybase-environment-variables topic was updated to reflect the correct variable information for applying patches.
Correction to BMC Decision Support – Database Automation information
May 22, 2012: Removed the sentence indicating that the BMC Decision Support – Database Automation reports can be launched from BMC Database Automation from Enhanced reporting using BMC Decision Support – Database Automation.
Update of SQL Server environment variables for patching
May 15, 2012: The SQL-Server-environment-variables topic was updated to reflect the correct variable information for applying and rolling back patches.
Addition of PDFs section
April 24, 2012: This space now contains a topic that links to PDF files of the entire site created at the time of initial release and updates for each service pack. See PDFs.
Addition of ASM redundancy level configuration information
April 9, 2012: Procedures related to provisioning Oracle clusters were updated to include information on configuring Automatic Storage Management (ASM) redundancy level. See the following topics:
Addition of deployment architecture information
March 29, 2012: This space now contains information on the BMC Database Automation deployment architecture, including:
- General deployment concepts and recommendations
- Sizing and scalability
- High availability
- Disaster recovery
Upgrading content moved
March 28, 2012: Upgrading content moved from within the Installing section to the top level of the space navigation tree. Content was reorganized into two sections:
- Preparing for upgrade
- Performing the upgrade
Clarifying user account information for LDAP authentication
March 13, 2012: Provided additional information on the domain user account that should be created as part of the configuration of LDAP authentication. See Integrating-Active-Directory-by-using-RHEL-4 and Integrating-Active-Directory-by-using-RHEL-5-and-RHEL-6.
Updating the list of supported databases
March 13, 2012: The list of supported databases was updated to include support for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) on IBM AIX. See Databases-supported.
Setting the library path for the clarity_backup.pl script
March 5, 2012: A step to set the library path for the clarity_backup.pl has been added to procedures where this script is run. See Archiving-restoring-jobs-and-creating-backup-files and Creating-a-backup.
Fixed documentation defect 14984
February 28, 2012: The documentation defect 14984 has been fixed: Configuring-change-control now contains instructions for enabling the API listener and restarting the mtd service.
