Preparing for upgrade
This topic provides information on preparing to upgrade BMC Database Automation (BDA).
Before you begin
- Refer to Upgrade-process-overview to ensure you have the minimum version required to upgrade. Contact BMC Support if you are running an older version of the software, and you want to upgrade to the current version.
- Verify that the mod-ssl package is installed on the Manager. For example:
[root@rh5-ma-159 ~]# rpm -q mod_sslmod_ssl-2.2.3-63.el5
If it is not installed, you must install it before performing the upgrade. - If you are upgrading to the current version of BDA and are running prior versions of BMC Database Automation where the 10g instant client is installed, you must install the 11g instant client before upgrading. Failing to do so will result in an error during the upgrade because of the installation of a deprecated version of the client.
- If you are using BDA Compliance Standards and upgrading to the current version of BDA, you must download the updated compliance content that is compatible with this version from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site.
