Collecting diagnostics


This topic describes how to collect diagnostics for BMC Database Automation.

Viewing installed software packages

To view installed software packages, do the following:

To view a list of the type and version of the Manager software components that are currently installed, select Configuration> System Information in the Context Frame.

When submitting a support request, you can select individual logs or an entire log (and rotated logs) for diagnostic information to be collected and zipped to a file, as detailed in the following sections.

Downloading a support bundle from the Manager

To download a support bundle from the Manager, do the following:

  1. From the Management Console, select Configuration > System Information.
  2. Click Download Support Bundle.
  3. In the Configuration section, select the check box corresponding to the additional and rotated logs that you want to include in the Support Bundle.
  4. Click Download Support Bundle.

Downloading support bundle from an agent

To download support bundle from an agent, do the following:

  1. From the Management Console, click the host name in the Grid.
  2. In the Node Configuration section, select Maintenance > Download Agent Support Bundle.
  3. In the Configuration section, select the check box corresponding to the additional and rotated logs that you want to include in the Support Bundle.
  4. Click Download Support Bundle.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
