Renaming an Oracle database

You can change the name of an Oracle database in the Maintenance Console. However, changing the name of an Oracle database in the Maintenance Console does not change the Oracle System Identification (SID).

To rename an Oracle database, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the Oracle database that you want to rename.
  2. In the Database Configuration section, select Maintenance > Rename Database.
  3. In the Rename Database page, enter the new database name and click Rename Database.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
