Creating Oracle reports
You can create the following types of reports about Oracle software, components, and databases:
- Comparison Report
- File Report: Compares the database files of Oracle databases.
- Initialization Parameter Report: Compares the initialization parameters of Oracle database instances.
- Patch Report: Compares installed patches in the homes of Oracle database instances.
- Information Report
- Initialization Parameter Report: Compares the initialization parameters of Oracle database instances.
- Listener Report: Lists the properties of running listeners.
- Timeline Report
- File Report: Tracks database file changes over time for a specific Oracle database.
- Initialization Parameter Report: Tracks initialization parameter changes over time for a specific Oracle database.
- Patch Report: Tracks installed patch changes over time for the home of a specific Oracle database.
To create an Oracle comparison report
This section describes how to create a report that compares Oracle databases, using the Patch Report type as an example. The steps to create other types of Oracle comparison reports are essentially the same.
- From the Context Frame, select Reports > Oracle Reports > Comparison Reports > Patch Report.
- In the Patch Report page, select the entities that you want to compare.
- Specify the point-in-time that you want this report to show, and click Next.
For the current time, leave the settings as they are. - Select a reference for the report, or select the Do not use a reference option.
When a reference is selected, the other two entities are compared against the selection, and the differences are highlighted in the report. - Click Run.
To create an Oracle timeline report
This section describes how to create a report that shows various changes to an Oracle database over a specified period of time. As an example, these instructions show how to create a report that shows the patches that were installed on an Oracle database over a specified period of time. The steps to create other types of Oracle timeline reports are essentially the same.
- From the Context Frame, select Reports > Oracle Reports > Timeline Reports > Patch Report.
- In the Patch Report page, select the entities that you want to compare.
- Specify the point-in-time that you want this report to show.
- Click Run.
