Downloading the installation files


You obtain the product installation files by downloading them from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) website. Your ability to access product pages on the EPD website is determined by the license entitlements purchased by your company. To understand which files you are entitled to download, access the license entitlements for your product. 

When to download a service pack

For a fresh installation or an upgrade, check the Release-notes to determine the latest update and then download the following:

  • The latest release or service pack (if available).
    For service packs, the installer will install or upgrade the full product. For example, when you install version 8.7.01, it installs version 8.7.00 along with enhancements that were made in 8.7.01 (Service Pack 1).
  • Any hotfixes that are available for known issues

If you sign up forProactive Notification, you will be notified about new service packs or patches for applying the latest changes, in addition to bulletins about critical fixes.

Downloading the files

The installation program for the latest service pack or patch also includes the full installation of the product. To install the product for the first time or apply product updates, select the Additional Products tab and download the latest service pack or patch. You can find the latest information about service packs and patches under Release-notes

Installation files

The following table provides links to the page in the EPD website that contains the installation files for this product. From the EPD page you can select and download the installation files for your platform. Access to the EPD website requires that you provide your BMC Support credentials. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form.

This item is a link to the installation files for a base version or a patch version of the BMC Database Automation Manager software for new installations and upgrades.

Note

(2020 Release 01 only) You can perform a new installation of BDA Manager only on RHEL 7 or later. Apache version 2.4.6 or later is required.

Agent Installation

This item is a link to the installation files for the BMC Database Automation Agent software for all platforms. Use this download to run a base version with no patch updates.

This item is a link to a .zip file containing the following optional files:

  • command_line_utilities.zip: Command line tools that enable you to access functionality in the BMC Database Automation GUI by running utilities from the command line
  • data_warehouse.zip: Configuration files for the data warehouse database for data storage for reports
  • mediaprep_<file_number>.exe: Utilities for preparing media for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases

Locate the files you downloaded and verify the SHA256 checksum results before installation.

Tip

 You can use any SHA256 checksum tool to verify the checksum results.
