Creating a Sybase Replication Server
Before you begin
- A node is available to be used for provisioning.
- The node meets all of the system requirements defined in the Sybase installation documentation for the Replication Server.
- Sybase Replication Server media is mounted on the node as described in Sybase media location requirements.
To create a Sybase Replication Server
- From the Management Console, select the node on which you want to create a Sybase Replication Server.
- Select Provision > Add Sybase Repserver.
In the Naming page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
- If the Custom Fields page appears, enter values for the custom fields, and click Next.
This page appears only when custom fields are defined in the BMC Database Automation XML template used for this provisioning activity. See Adding-custom-fields-to-a-template. - In the Home Selection section, select either an existing home for the Replication Server, or select Create New Home in the Use Existing Home field of the Use Existing Home page, and click Next.
If you created a Sybase home for the version of the database being provisioned using the Add Sybase Repserver Home wizard, that home is available in the Use Existing Home field. Selecting that home skips the wizard to the Adaptive Server Configuration step.
If a Sybase home does not exist for the version of the database being provisioned, select Create New Home in the Use Existing Homes field of the Use Existing Home page, and click Next. In the Settings page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
In the Licensing Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
If you are configuring Sybase 15, in the SySAM Notification Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
In the ID Server Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
In the Replication Server Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
In the Replication Server System Database Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
If the Replication Server System Database Device Configuration page appears, populate the following fields, and click Next.
This page displays when the Use Embedded RSSDfield in the previous step is cleared.In the Replication Server Disk Partition Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
In the Replication Server Remote Site Correction Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
In the Localization Configuration page, populate the following fields, and click Next.
- If the Character Set Configuration page appears, populate the following fields, and click Next.
Click Next. If the Configure Localizationbox is checked in the previous step, the following page appears.
In the Custom Scripts Configuration page, select any pre-provisioning or post-provisioning scripts that you want to run as follows, and click Next.
In the Job Options page, specify any of the following Job options, and click Next.
If the Change Control page displays, populate the following fields, and click Next.
- In the Summary page, review the provisioning information.
To make changes, do the following:- Click Go to to return to the provisioning step that you want to edit.
- Make your changes.
- Click Save and Review to return to the Summary page.
- Specify your verification preferences.
For additional information, see Understanding-pre-verification-tests.- To continue with database creation after the pre-verification tests have been successfully run without manual intervention, select Automatically Continue If All Tests Succeed.
To create the database without having first run the pre-verification steps, select Skip Pre-Verification Tests.
Click Create Sybase Repserver.
If you disabled the Automatically Continue If All Tests Succeed option, you are prompted to click Continueafter the pre-verification steps are done.After the pre-verification steps are completed or have been skipped, the Replication Server creation process begins and a progress page appears.
