Creating a compliance standard

BMC Database Automation (BDA) provides a platform for creating compliance standards for your environment. Similar to Actions, standards are a framework for automating tasks and running scripts on hosts and databases.

  6. In the Custom Fields page, specify custom fields for this standard and click Next.

    2. Enter the name of the custom field in the Custom Fields Name field. The name used here must match the name used in the template that you load in the Standard Files page.
    3. If this custom field should be a required field, select the Required check box.
    4. Click Add to add the field name to the list.
    5. Repeat these steps for each custom field to be added to this standard.

      Warning

      Note

To ensure that the field appears on the Custom Fields page when the standard runs, you must define that field in the template that you select. The field will not appear if you only specify a custom field in this page.

However, if you specify that the custom field be Required in this page, you will only be able to select a template that defines the required field.

  7. In the Restrictions page, populate the following fields, and click Next.

  8. In the Standard Files page, populate the following fields, and click Next.

    Warning

    Note

BDA supports the uploading of zipped content files. The maximum file size supported for a zipped content file is 2 GB.

  9. In the Summary page, review the provisioning information.
To make changes, do the following:
    1. Click Go to to return to the standard setup step that you want to edit.
    2. Make your changes.
    3. Click Save and Review to return to the Summary page.
  10. Click Create Standard to finish creating the standard.
The new compliance standard displays in the Standards page.
