Maintaining multiple applications

The APPLTAB view allows you to apply updates to many applications at one time. You can update specific fields that you want to change while leaving the others unaffected.

To process group maintenance or mass updates

  1. From the APPLTAB view enter the T (tag) line command in the CMD column against the rows (applications) that you want to update. This command marks the row (application) for processing.

If you decide not to change one or more of the selected applications, you can enter the T command again in the CMD column of the row; the application will be deselected and will not be processed.

If you change your mind entirely, you can enter the CT command in the COMMAND line at the top of the view and all the rows marked for processing will reset.

  2. After you have selected the applications that you want updated, enter the MU (mass update) command in the COMMAND line at the top of the view and press Enter. The data entry dialog is displayed with blank entry fields.
  3. Update only the fields in the data entry dialog that you want changed in the selected applications. The Application maintenance fields describes each data entry field.

    Note

Budgets are used by views as the basis for percentage-usage calculations for graphic and tabular displays. BMC Software recommends that you specify a budget for all applications that are running in monitor mode.
