DFHSM CDS query views

The DFSMShsm CDS query views provide reports about your control data sets.

Each menu option advances to a data-entry panel on which you can specify filter criteria to tailor the report.

Tip

Regardless of whether you specify tailoring criteria, press PF3 to display the view.

The following table summarizes the options from which you can choose, and the commands, SETSRM keywords, and EZCmd menus that are available for each option.

For additional information, see:

Note

For more information about DFSMShsm control data sets, see the Reference-for-MainView-SRM-Reporting.

For complete keyword descriptions for the SETSRM command, see SETSRM-command.

To see an explanation of any field or column on the views, place your cursor over the field or in the column and press F1 to access online Help.

CDS Data Set Collections View (HSMCDSC)

Select the Extended CDS Filtering option to display the following options:

Note: In some cases a BCDS or MCDS file might contain more entries than can be handled in available virtual memory. This situation is particularly true when requesting to backup version records. To avoid this problem you can initiate early filtering of records before they are fully filtered. To do this, specify on the DSN filter an operand of GE, GT, LE, or LT; provide a single value as the "data set"; and do not specify anything on the DSN2 filter. Any additional filter criteria will be applied to the final result. For example, "LT N" and "GE N" should provide two queries that cover the entire control data set (BCDS or MCDS).

  • Select the Data Set Backups option to advance to the data entry panel that enables you to:
