4.7 Performance

Reservoir Performance can be broken down into performance (from the backup perspective) of receiving data: 

  • For that we have high performance in networking:
  • Hipersockets in zLinux
  • Gigabit and 10 GB TCP/IP
  • TOE adapters (TCP/IP Onboard Engine)
  • SAN Express Direct
  • SAN Express Passthru

And performance issues writing data, to either tape or disk.  The sections below describe performance tuning for each.
