Overview of the enhancements
This section describes the following enhancements:
Performance simulation enhancement
IAM 10.00.02 supports simulation of loading the IAM files without doing most of the actual I/O to the output file. For example, this allows the specification of a small IAM file rather than a large one when performing a REPRO load. The IAM file created will just contain the IAM control records and none of the actual user data records. Statistics produced by the REPRO will reflect the actual amount of data processed. The resulting file can later be interrogated with LISTCAT, just like a regular IAM file, and the resulting statistics will display the results as if the file had been normally loaded. This can be helpful for planning situations when dealing with very large amounts of data. For more information, see Simulate File Load.
Record Lock Manager enhancement
IAM 10.0.02 now extends the IAMRLS IBM Replication format System Logger Journaling to include using IAMRLS Record Lock Recovery. For more information, see IAM/RLS Record Lock Recovery and IAM/PLEX Record Lock Recovery.
