FDRINSTANT and IBM SnapShot

FDRINSTANT™ is an additional cost FDR facility for non-disruptive backup. It works in concert with SnapShot, a feature of the IBM 9393 RVA (RAMAC Virtual Array) and Oracle StorageTek SVA (Shared Virtual Array) that allows for the “instant” creation of exact duplicates of existing DASD volumes.

FDRINSTANT for SnapShot documentation has been moved to a separate document and is available:

  1. On the BMC FTP site as Section_26_ FDRINSTANT_for_SnapShot.pdf.
  2. In the Installation Control Library (ICL) as SEC#026.
