Shared DASD restrictions and requirements
- A single database must be cataloged on all systems and must be defined with the SGCDSN keyword in the SMMSYSxx member of each image.
- ENQs with major names of SGC4 and SGCMAINT and a scope of SYSTEMS must be propagated across systems, using IBM Global Resource Sharing (GRS) or an equivalent product. This method protects the account information in the database from concurrent update.
The FLST and RLST definitions on each of the sharing images must be the same. This requirement implies that the keywords FORSMFID, FORSYSID, and FORPLEXNAME, although syntactically valid, must not be used in the FLST or RLST because they create differences.
This requirement encourages the use of a common BBPARM data set. Various system images can have different FLST and RLST assignments for most functions, but this method simplifies keeping the SGCONTRL FLST and RLST members the same.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
