Starting BMC AMI Storage components manually


By default, all licensed components are started when SVOS is started. If you prefer to start SRM components manually, when needed, use the following procedures to prevent automatic startup and then start components manually.

To prevent components and subcomponents from starting automatically

Set one or more of the following keywords to N.

Startup override keywords

Important

You must set START_ALL=Y before the system will read any other START parameter.

  • Use the Component Status option on the EZSRM menu.
  • Issue one or more of the following start commands.

Important

Starting SVALLOC automatically starts SVDSSIZE. The Data Set Size Assist feature is not available to the StopX37/II stand-alone product.

The STATUS command is issued automatically after all necessary subcomponents have been started.

After a successful startup of the BMC AMI Storage component, the following messages are displayed on the console, indicating that BMC AMI Storage is active:

In these messages, v.r.m is the version, release, and modification number, and subsys is the subsystem name that is used in the SUBSYS parameter in SVOSJCL. (The default is ETIS.)
