Information about the DFSMShsm environment is supplied to 

BMC AMI Storage

 in the following ways:

  • The DFSMShsm control data sets are determined automatically at DFSMShsm startup or through SMMSYSxx parameters.
  • Records from the DFSMShsm logs are automatically collected and passed to the BMC AMI Storage SVOS address space. The records are logged on the HSM database, thus becoming available for reporting.
  • Specific information that is needed by BMC AMI Storage is supplied in parameters in the BMC AMI Storage SMMSYSxx PARMLIB member.
  • The Recall Queue VSAM data set maintains information about recall requests queued but not yet executed. The data set is used by functions HSMPRTY and HSMRQUE as well as Recall Queue views.
