BMC AMI Storage IAM 11.0

This space contains information about version 11.0.00 of the BMC AMI Storage IAM product, formerly known as the BMC Compuware IAM product.

BMC AMI Storage IAM product is a high-performance and transparent alternative to a VSAM Key-Sequenced Data Set (KSDS), a KSDS with Alternative Indexes, an Entry-Sequenced Data Set (ESDS), and a Relative Record Data Set (RRDS) that are commonly used by CICS online regions and batch jobs. BMC AMI Storage IAM has a proven track record to outperform VSAM by reducing the number of I/O operations resulting in reduced CPU time, elapsed time and response time. BMC AMI Storage IAM exploits 64-Bit Storage for buffering and indexing resulting in significant CPU time reductions and total cost of ownership savings.

Requirements

IAM Version 11.0.00 utilizes various functions and features only available in z/OS operating systems and instructions available only on processors that support z/Architecture®. The minimum requirements for IAM Version 11.0.00 are z/OS 2.3 or higher and a processor that supports the ninth edition of z/Architecture Principle of Operations (-09 level) or above. The specific processors are the z/EC12 or z/BC12 and above.

Due to quad-word alignment required with the 64-bit support, the IAM load library requires and is distributed as a PDSE with a block size of 32760. A normal PDS can be used, but modules will have to be copied to a PDSE should maintenance be necessary, and then copied back.
