FDRABRP VTOC Report

PRINT VTOC statement

The report generated by the PRINT VTOC statement provides current information about existing data sets taken from the VTOCs of specific volumes, including: data set name, DASD volume serial, last ABR cycle, volume sequence number, last reference date, special ABR indicators, data set attributes and allocation information. The SUMPFX option allows summarization by high-level index.

AGE=

nnn

If the summary report is printed, AGE= specifies the number of days (1 to 999) since a data set has been referenced as used by the aging summary for the VTOC report.

Default: 30.

AGEINC=

nnn

If the summary report is printed, AGEINC= specifies the number of days (1 to 999) added to the value to derive the next control break in the aging summary for the VTOC Report. The summary report displays four aging breaks.

Default: 30.

COMBINE

Specifies that the report is produced in data set/volume serial number sequence, merging the various DASD volumes into one combined report.

Important

The use of COMBINE requires that the execution Job Control include SORT-related DD statements as described in FDRABRP-JCL-Requirements.

Default: Each volume processed has its own separate report.

DETAIL=
NO

Results in ONLY a track utilization and data set aging summary to be printed. The SUM=YES option must also be active otherwise no reports are output. The reporting of DSCB information related to each data set is bypassed.

YES

A complete detailed report is printed.

Default: DETAIL=YES.

DSN=

Only data sets or clusters with a name matching one of the names given are selected (1-44 characters). Multiple values are specified in parentheses separated by commas.

Important

FDRABRP does not support data set name masking (patterns). For similar reports using masking, see Working-with-FDREPORT.

DSG=

Only data sets or clusters beginning with one of the prefixes given are selected (1 to 44 characters). Multiple values are specified in parentheses separated by commas.

There is a special form of the DSG operand. Leading periods “.” after DSG= indicate that the group name starts after one or more index levels. Each period indicates that one index level is to be bypassed.

Example: DSG=..TST selects any data set with a third index level starting with “TST”.

Important

  • DSN and DSG operands may be repeated and/or intermixed. A total of up to 200 strings may be specified. Specifies one or more data set names from 1 to 44 characters in length. Only data sets or clusters having a name that match one of the names are selected.
  • FDRABRP does not support data set name masking (patterns). For similar reports using masking, see Working-with-FDREPORT.
FORMAT=
CRT

Produces a 79 character line formatted for a TSO terminal.

PRT

Produces a 121 character line formatted for a printer.

Default: CRT if executing under TSO; PRT otherwise.

LINECNT=

nn

Specifies the maximum number of lines each report page can contain, from 28 to 99 inclusive.

Default: 58.

ONLINE

Causes all online DASD volumes to be included in the report.

Default: If neither ONLINE nor VOL/VOLG is specified, the default is that only DASD volumes pointed to by DISKxxxx DD Statements are included.

SELTERR=
NO

Specifies that a condition code of 12 is not set if there are no data sets that match the selection criteria on this PRINT command.

YES

Specifies that a condition code of 12 is set if there are no data sets that match the selection criteria on this PRINT command.

Default: YES.

SUM=
NO

Suppresses the track utilization and data set aging summary. Only the information from the DSCBs for the data sets on the volumes selected are printed. You must insure that the DETAIL=YES option is active.

YES

Print the track utilization and data set aging summary along with the information from the DSCBs for the data sets on the volumes selected.

Default: YES.

SUMPFX=

Specifies that the report on ABRSUM summarize by high-level data set index.

ALL

Also produce AGING information for the higher data sets by index level.

YES

Produces only a report by index level.

VOL=
VOLG=

Only volumes matching the specified volume serial “VOL=” or volume serial prefix “VOLG=” are selected. Multiple values are specified in parentheses separated by commas.

Important

VOL and VOLG operands may be repeated and/or intermixed. A total of up to 100 strings may be specified.

inset_5.jpgThe FDRABRP program has been functionally stabilized, but is still available; however, this report can be produced with FDREPORT and enhanced with all the features available in FDREPORT and the flexibility to modify the reports as desired. This is the JCL and control statements to produce the equivalent FDREPORT for FDRABRP “PRINT VTOC,VOL=IDPLB2” report.

//FDREPORT EXEC PGM=FDREPORT,REGION=0M
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//ABRMAP   DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=*
