Grouping

You can specify how the data sets will be grouped on the output tapes. Each “group” of data sets is used to create a separate output volume, or multivolume set.

Q: Are you doing a RESTART of data sets selected by an earlier SIM?

Yes – Grouping functions were saved by the SIM, so click here to skip ahead.

Q: Do you want all of the output data sets to be grouped together (“stacked”) in a single group? This minimizes the number of output tapes used.

Yes1 Add EXPDTGROUP=999 to your COPY or SIM statement, then click here to skip ahead.
