Command and syntax reference

The BMC Defender SyslogDefender product uses the configuration file that you chose during installation. It is located in the same folder as CO-SyslogDefender.exe. It is an editable text file that specifies all the SyslogDefender options. You might need to edit the file to customize SyslogDefender to your installation requirements.

Note

SyslogDefender reads the configuration file only during the program start. After modifying the configuration file for the program, you must stop and restart the service in one of the following ways:

  • net stop CO-SyslogDefender and net start CO-SyslogDefender commands
  • SC command
  • Windows Services console

Otherwise, any changes made to the configuration file do not take effect until the next time SyslogDefender starts.
