Using a BMC Defender Server user alert

This section provides a information about the user alert screens and details about the features of the BMC Defender Server user alert. which provides alerting of users, in direct support of user anomaly detection and certain security requirements.

The user alert definitions are located in the Alerts > Users tab where you can apply a single threshold or match pattern across a range of users. TnBMC Defender Server, the capability also exists in the Correlation and Alerts tabs, but the user alert simplifies the alerting process and creates a more visible indication of the user-centric alerts that might be necessary to monitor system security. For example, you can configure user alerts to satisfy certain Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance requirements and other security requirements.
