Uninstalling BMC Defender Server and BMC Defender Agent for Windows

You can uninstall the BMC Defender Server and BMC Defender Agent for Windows through the Windows utility, but to prevent unintentional data removal, the utility leaves the BMC Defender Server files intact. Examine and confirm that you want to remove the remaining BMC Defender Server files, and then manually remove the files.

To uninstall the products

  1. Open the Windows "Apps & features" (also called "Add or remove programs") utility.
  2. Select CorreLog Framework and click Uninstall.
  3. On the BMC Defender Uninstaller Program wizard page, click Next.
  4. Confirm the file path designated on the wizard page, select Click to confirm uninstallation of files at this site, and click Next.
    The uninstallation process begins.
  5. On the Uninstallation Process Complete page, click Finish.
  6. To entirely remove all program and data files from your computer, delete the installation directory (by default, C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMC Defender).

    Important

After running the uninstall procedure, but before manually removing the BMC Defender files, an administrator on the computer can run the BMC Defender Server setup wizard program (the installationDirectory\system\co-install.exe file) to reinstall the registry keys and other configuration components.
