Using BMC Defender File Transfer Queue adapter
The BMC Defender File Transfer Queue adapter program requires very limited operating notes. After installation, it makes use of reasonable default values. To begin sending data to BMC Defender, simply copy files into the queue directory, the installationDirectory\file-queue directory. Replace installationDirectory with the directory in which you installed the product. The default directory is C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BMC Defender.
BMC Defender does not specify the precise method for queuing files. Various techniques exist, such as automatic FTP transfers from a target system to a directory on the BMC Defender Server and scheduled scripts (configured through the standard Windows Scheduler) that produce the data from a variety of sources.
Likewise, you can write a simple FTP script to pull files onto the system from a remote location (such as error logs from a remote server) and then move these files into the file queue. Alternatives include executing scheduled HTTP commands (using curl.exe or other public domain utilities) or simply sharing a directory with the BMC Defender Server. These various and diverse techniques provide simple and obvious agentless modes of operation.
