Planning


This section provides information related to planning to install Session Monitor.

Steps involved

  1. Order Session Monitor and its companion products, including the latest maintenance, from BMC Support.

  2. Complete each of the tasks to:
    1. Make sure that companion products are installed and configured with the latest maintenance and that the license for Session Monitor is imported.
    2. Perform the SMP/E installation of Session Monitor according to BMC Installer Mainframe Products SMP/E Installation.
    3. Implement the PARMLIB.
    4. Configure Session Monitor for new installation.
    5. Perform additional configuration for Workbench for Eclipse and other features.
    6. Verify product installation.
    7. Deploy Session Monitor to additional LPARs.
    8. Troubleshoot any problems with the installation.
