Creating a database directory

Create a directory for the BMC AMI Security Policy Manager database. The product creates the database and manages the internal operations where necessary, but you must create the directory for it.

Create the directory under OMVS. A sample creation might be performed in the following way:

In the following example, the /u directory already exists.

  1. Run the OMVS command from ISPF option 6.
  2. Enter cd /u to move to the u directory.
  3. Enter mkdir baspm to create the baspm directory.
  4. Enter cd baspm to move to the baspm directory.
  5. Enter mkdir db to create the db directory.
  6. Enter ls to confirm that the db directory has been successfully created.
    The database directory is created at /u/baspm/db.

After you complete this task, ensure that within the Security Policy Manager configuration the SQLPath parameter has been set to the directory you created. The path name is case-sensitive.
