Reconfiguring parameters

(SPE2107)

You can use the RECONFIG command to configure the parameters in the BMC AMI Security Policy Manager parameter library.

You can reconfigure the following parameters:

  • SPMParms
    • RulesDataset
    • AlertRetention
    • AlertLog
    • ForwardSyslog
    • ForwardSmf80
    • DefenderInstance
  • DatasetFilters
  • JobNameFilters

To reconfigure parameters in the parameter library

  1. Update the values in a member in the RSS parameter library.
For example, to change the RulesDataset parameter value and the job name filters, create a member with the following entries in the RSS parameter library:

    ****** ********************************* Top of Data ******
     000001
     000002 SPMParms
     000003 RulesDataset SAMP.ZDTV21.RULES1
     000004 EndSPMParms
     000005
     000006 JobNameFilters
     000007 SYSLOGD
     000008 TCPIP
     000009 VTAM
     000010 EndJobnameFilters
     000011
     ****** ******************************** Bottom of Data ****

  2. Provide the member in the RECONFIG command.
For example, if the member is named SPMREF, issue the RECONFIG SPMREF command.

Security Policy Manager reads the data provided in the member to update the parameters. If you include a parameter that cannot be updated, the RSS0010E error message is issued for that parameter.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
