Installing

This section guides you through the installation and configuration procedures. When you complete the procedures, all necessary system updates (such as library authorization and external security manager definitions) are complete, the started task is active, and users can use the product.

BMC AMI Security Administrator is delivered as a single SMP/E installable package which includes the licensed software and the installation utilities.

The installation package is provided as a binary offload of a z/OS XMIT file. This file is uploaded to the z/OS system using FTP (or any other accepted method) and then loaded using the TSO RECEIVE command. This creates a single installation package data set from which you execute the supplied INSTALL procedure.

The following topics provide the information you need to install the product:

BMC AMI Security Administrator requires one master address space and one Security Administrator address space for each LPAR. The master address space loads the exits and data structures required for Security Administrator processing. The Security Administrator address space is the product address space.

Within a Sysplex, Security Administrator instances support cooperative processing and provide a centralized view across the Sysplex. An optional REXX address space is provided, which is only required if REXX security policies are in effect.
