Authorizing the load library

As a system programmer, you must APF-authorize the load library.

Use one of the following methods to authorize the library:

  • Add the library to the APF list (member IEAAPFnn/PROGxx in SYS1.PARMLIB or its equivalent).
  • Issue the SETPROG command. The SETPROG command is not retained and you must reissue the command after an IPL.
    • The following command uses SETPROG to authorize the RSS library on a specified volume:
      SETPROG APF,ADD,DSN=hlq.RSSLOAD,VOLUME=yourVolId
    • The following command uses SETPROG to authorize an SMS-managed RSS library:
      SETPROG APF,ADD,DSN=hlq.RSSLOAD,SMS
