Event records
Event records are generally in mainframe format, with undifferentiated binary fields and EBCDIC character data. For a representative event record, see Sample-assembler-program. The API does not directly specify the format of the event record (with the exception of diagnostic records).
The layout of fields in an event record is defined by the BMC AMI Defender field definition file. For more information, see Format-of-parameter-and-field-definition-files.
A calling program can call an API for event records of varying types. The type is defined using major and minor event-type codes in the API1 control block.
- For information about event types, see Event-record-considerations.
