Command and syntax reference


This section describes the command list.

You can modify the following commands for the receiver:

DISPLAY(STATS)  OR STATS

Displays the number of z/VM SMF records sent to the agent and lists the listeners and their status.

The last entry at the end of the message shows the listener status as listed in the following table:

Status

Description

ACTIVE

The listener is active.

(blank)

The listener is inactive.

DISPLAY(PARMS)  OR PARMS

Displays parameter entries in effect

If you refreshed your parameters, the display shows the refreshed parameters.       

DISPLAY(LISTENER) OR LISTENER   

Displays a list of listeners with their IP addresses and port statuses

This list is in the same format as display stats.

SETIMER(020000)

Sets the time to interval reporting, every HHMMSS

For example,

Stats are displayed every hour and fifteen minutes.

Stats are displayed every minute.

DELETEL(listenerName)

Deletes the specified listener

Note

To delete a listener, you must stop the listener first.

STARTL(listenerName)

Starts or restarts the specified listener

Enter the name of the listener to get started.

STOPL(listenerName)

Stops the specified listener or connection

REFRESH (listenerName)

Causes the receiver to use the parameters from the refreshed list

You must start the listener after the refresh is done to initiate the changes in the list. 

Note

If the specified listener is active, this command shuts down that listener.

REFRESH    

Refreshes the parameter list

Note

This command only refreshes the list and does not restart any listeners.
