Non-disruptive maintenance

You can use non-disruptive maintenance to apply updates without bringing down the BMC AMI Datastream address space.

To apply updates with non-disruptive maintenance

  1. Apply the updates to the following data sets:
    • LOAD
    • PARM
    • EXEC
    • DBRM
  2. Verify that the BMC AMI Datastream agent is using the updated data sets.
  3. Verify that the PARM and EXEC updates are correct (PARM and EXEC members are reloaded during this process).

  4. Issue the following MODIFY command to apply the updates to the running BMC AMI Datastream address space:

    /F AGENTNAME,$MGR,MAINT

    The initialization messages that you receive reflect the new maintenance level.

Important

You cannot update modifications to the started task JCL by using non-disruptive maintenance. You can update them only by restarting the BMC AMI Datastream address space.
