The following topic provides an overview of the installation process for BMC AMI Datastream for Db2.

BMC AMI Datastream products are available in z/OSMF consumable portable software instance (PSI) format. If you are using z/OS 2.5 or later, you can install and configure the product via Installation using z/OSMF.

During the installation process you must customize and submit JCL installation jobs. The installation package includes the tersed mainframe data set, ADZvrmm.trs. It contains all of the load libraries, JCL statements, and control files that are required to install and run BMC AMI Datastream for Db2.

You download the file, unterse it, customize the installation job, and run the job. After you complete the installation, you have a complete set of product data sets.

Prepare for installation:

  • Fill out the installation worksheet.
  • Download the installation files.

Set up the installation environment:

  • Allocate space for the bootstrap data sets.
  • (Update customers) Copy current customizations.
  • Upload and unterse the installation file.

Installing the BMC AMI Datastream product files:

  • Customize and run the INSTALL job.
  • Determine the applicable load library to use.

If required, run the SMP/E installation process:

  • Create the SMP/E installation files.
  • Create the SMP/E environment.
  • Run the SMP/E installation process.
