SMF record type overview

System Management Facilities (SMF) is at the root of many critical mainframe-monitoring functions. Mainframe administrators can control how much or how little SMF data is collected on the system. SMF records are classified by a record type number between 0 and 255. For a list of the SMF record types processed by BMC AMI Datastream, see Supported-API-event-types-SMF-types-and-associated-process-tags.
