User summary section

The User Summary section is displayed as the next report section (if selected by the operator on the Edit Categories screen for the particular report). This section includes a summary of the top managed users by message counts and an analysis of user outliers falling outside of the normal deviation from average. This section should be disabled if the message source contains no managed user information.

  • Statistical Metrics Table—This report item is displayed in the upper left corner of the User Summary section and displays the statistics for all users in the report, including the total users in the report, maximum count for any user, minimum count for any user, the average count per user, the standard deviation from average for all users, and the total message count for all users. Values are summarized across the reporting interval for the particular data source of the report.
  • Top Users Pie Chart—A pie chart is depicted in the upper right corner of this section that shows the relative counts for the top managed users in the report data. The top eight managed users are shown relative to the total number of messages for all users, along with the percent of messages in the report attributed to the particular managed user.
  • Top Users Table—Beneath the report items is a table that depicts the top 10 managed users in the report (by user message count magnitude). This table shows the top user name, the full name for the user (if available), the standard deviation from the average for the particular managed user message count, the total count of messages for the managed user, and a bar graph showing the magnitude of the user count.
  • Deviation—This column of the table shows the standard deviation of the message count from the average. The value is further analyzed in the Outlier section of the report that follows and is depicted in the Top Users table as a reference point. Larger standard deviations are anomalous and might warrant further investigation of the managed user.
  • Message Counts—This column of the table depicts the total message counts for the managed user in the report data source across the reporting interval.

Beneath the Top Users table is a summary footer that depicts the total number of additional managed users and messages.

Note

The table depicts only the top ten users contained in the data source across the reporting interval. The detailed managed user counts and deviations can be found in the User Detail section, described further.
