Reports tab

You can report raw and correlated message information on the BMC Defender Server Reports tab, which has multiple reporting tools to perform the forensics, audit, analysis, and management of event data.

You can perform the following actions using the Reports tab:

  • Perform complex queries on the message (and other) data, by using the Query tab
  • Create reports that are suitable for audit and forensics, by using the Audit tab
  • Generate comprehensive PDF reports by using the PDF tab, and request reports through email, by using the E Mail tab
  • Preparation of graphs, by using the Graphs tab

The following figure displays the Reports tab and its subtabs:

The Reports facility supports background job control that allows you to monitor the progress of the background process (using a status line depicted at the top of the Reports tab) when generating a report. Ready-to-run reports, ad-hoc reporting, and the ability to create new reports, all of that can be distributed using RSS or by using standard e-mail are other advantages of Reports facility. Either you can generate reports (such as the PDF, E-Mail, and Pivot reports) manually by using the web interface or they automatically generate at midnight.

You can load the report information on one or more ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) compliant SQL databases to allow third-party report writers to access the report data and run complex queries using a special ODBC support tool.
