Tags screen

The Tags screen is accessed by clicking on the Config tab, and then selecting Tags. From that location, the operator can configure short message tags that are appended to messages, useful for assisting with correlation and data enrichment. This furnishes a method of further organizing and identifying key messages by pattern. Tags are permanently recorded with specific match messages using a (Tag: value) convention. The Tags screen is a standard BMC Defender Server dialog. The administrator can add a tag via AddNew option, and can edit (or delete) a tag using Edit option to the left of the entry. Tags furnish yet another way of correlating data, and can include data enrichment by parsing values from target messages (possibly using the $maplist parse function to enrich the message with external data.) Multiple tags can be added to any message. A message can add multiple tag specifications. The order in which tags are appended can be specified using Match Order option at the bottom of the screen.
