Uninstalling BMC Defender Server

The BMC Defender Server and BMC Defender WTS are uninstalled using the Add or Remove Programs Windows facility, also called the Program Features facility on Vista platforms. Navigate to this screen from the Windows Control Panel and click BMC Defender Framework to execute the uninstall program. Follow the instructions in the dialog box to uninstall the BMC Defender Framework system.

Unlike most uninstall programs, the BMC Defender Framework files are left intact on the disk. Following the uninstall procedure, you must manually remove these files, such as by dragging the BMC Defender root directory to the recycle bin. This extra step safeguards any accidental removal of data on the system.

After running the uninstall procedure, but before manually removing the BMC Defender files, an administrator can re-execute the BMC Defender setup wizard program to re-install the registry keys and other configuration components, as described previously.
