Specifying an FTP destination

Before you begin

You perform the procedures in this topic on the FTP panel. To open this panel, on the main menu, enter 5 at the OPTION===> prompt:

To exit the FTP panel when you have finished performing these procedures, press PF3.

To specify an FTP destination

1. On the FTP panel, enter ? next to the destination that you want to edit and press Enter.
   In the following example, the user has selected the V ftp.nnn.com destination for editing:

   The Define FTP Destination panel is displayed:

   This panel directs XML models and/or Visualizer files to an FTP destination.
   
   Set Type to V, X, or B. V indicates that only the Visualizer File should be
   sent. X indicates that only the XML Model Files should be sent. B indicates
   that both types of files should be sent.
   The Site is the FTP address to which the files should be sent.
   The Userid and Password are used to log on to the specified FTP site.
   The Folder is the FTP folder, or directory, where the files should be written.
   
   Enter Type===>b
   Enter FTP Site ===> ftp.nnn.com
   Enter Userid ===> username
   Enter Password ===>
   Retype Password ===>
   Enter Folder ===> uievm
   
   Press ENTER to validate the current values.
   Press PF3 to accept the current values, construct the FTP command and return to the previous screen.
   Enter the command CANCEL to discard any changes and return to the previous screen.
2. In the Enter Type field, specify the type of file to send to the FTP destination from the following values:
   • V—Send only the Visualizer file to the FTP destination.
   • X—Send only the XML model files to the FTP destination.
   • B—Send both Visualizer and XML model files to the FTP destination.
3. In the Enter FTP Site field, specify the destination FTP address.
4. In the Enter Userid and Enter Password fields, specify the user name and password to be used to log on to the specified FTP site.
   Enter the password again to confirm.
5. In the Enter Folder field, specify the destination FTP folder or directory.

6. After specifying the FTP destination, perform one of the following actions:
   • To validate the current values, press Enter.
   • To accept the current values, construct the FTP command, and return to the previous screen, press PF3.
   • To discard any changes and return to the previous session, enter CANCEL.

   Warning

   Important

   To make the information for each destination fit in a single line, some fields on this panel might be truncated. To resolve any FTP issues, try adding DEBUG FTP to the UIE/VM command stream.

To insert an FTP destination

1. Enter I next to the FTP destination to insert a blank line.
2. Press Enter.

To repeat an FTP destination

1. Enter R next to the FTP destination that you want to repeat.
2. Press Enter.

To delete an FTP destination

1. Enter D next to the FTP destination that you want to delete.
2. Press Enter.

To change an FTP destination

1. Enter ? next to the FTP destination that you want to edit.
2. On the Define FTP Destination panel, specify the FTP destination for the XML models and Visualizer file by entering values in the fields.
