The VM Monitor provides you with a mechanism for collecting system performance data and for using data reduction programs to understand system operation. You can control the amount and nature of data to be collected depending on the type of analysis you plan to do. You can use the data you collect to analyze the use and distribution of major system resources, such as processors, storage, I/O devices, and paging facilities.

The MONWRITE program enables you to write Monitor data to a tape or disk.
