TOPUSERS

Purpose

Use the TOPUSERS command to identify the users that use the CPU most heavily as Guest Operating Systems and to group all other users into a single workload.

Syntax

TOPUSERS nn

Syntax explanations

nn indicates the number of heavy CPU users that will be processed as Guest Operating Systems.

Rules

  • TOPUSERS overrides any defined WKL commands. If TOPUSERS is not specified, workloads are defined by any specified WKL commands.
  • Large TOPUSERS value can increase processing time significantly. Choose a value that handles your active guests comfortably rather than an arbitrarily large value. For example, if you have 30 or so active guests, it is more efficient to specify TOPUSERS 30 than it is to specify TOPUSERS 300.
Information
Example
TOPUSERS 20

The 20 heaviest CPU users are treated as Guest Operating Systems. All other users are grouped together in a workload called OTHERCMS.
