Activity Attributes


Every activity must have specific details about it defined. You define those details on the Activity Attributes tab. The following table lists the required and optional fields in the Activity Attributes tab.

Name

Name of the activity. The name must be unique. No character limit.

Explanation or summary of this activity. No character limit.

 

Activity Implementation

Select from the list of activity implementations created in the Activity Implementations tab.
Activity implementations define some general properties of a technology. Using associations on the Models tab, connects the logical representation of the transaction pathway to the technology.
The host name, platform and activity extension associated with the Activity Implementation are automatically displayed.

Link to view

Name of physical or logical view you want to link this activity to. Typically, the view to which you link your activity ids a performance and availability view, such as for a queue, channel, broker, or perhaps a logical view.

 

Icon

Select an icon to represent this activity in the transaction pathway and subsequently on the view. The icons are grouped. Select a group from the right-hand list box and the icon from the left-hand list box.

 

Mark received transactions as failed

Select to mark transactions reported by this activity as failed. You might monitor an application that puts to a dead letter queue and have anything put to the dead letter queue marked as failed.
